Sherri Mathies FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a dual board-certified family, psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner with over 14 years of experience as a nurse practitioner and 30 years as a registered nurse. I received a master’s degree in nursing from University of Southern Indiana and bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Southeast. I am board certified through both the American Nursing Credential Center and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
My areas of specialty include palliative care, end-of-life care, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular health and prevention, pain management, lifespan primary care and wellness. Full spectrum mental health care including include adjustment disorder, anger management, bipolar disorder, depression, geriatric care, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks/panic disorder, postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress management and women’s issues.
I have extensive experience in working with pediatric clients struggling with behavioral problems and believe in a minimalist medication approach but also recommend medications when a person requires medication to achieve optimal function and well-being.
